The Township has a
separate collection for stoves, freezers, refrigerators, washing machines,
dryers, metal cabinets and all metal furniture since these items are not
accepted at the trash-to-steam plant.Newer
Dishwashers (mostly made of plastic) can now be put out on the second regular
trash day. No sticker is required.
These items are picked up
once a month on the third Wednesday of the month. Residents desiring to have an
appliance removed must call the Public Works Department by the second Friday of
the month at 610-277-4103 to get the appropriate sticker and to be placed on
the list. Items without stickers will not be collected. Appliances such as
freezers, refrigerators and air conditioners that contain freon and other gases
that need to be removed prior to disposal require a green sticker that costs
$10.00. The other appliances require an orange sticker, which is free of
charge.
