Plymouth Township has implemented Single Stream recycling. Single stream recycling is more convenient to our residents which will encourage more recycling thus saving the Township money on trash disposal.
This process allows residents to combine cans, glass bottles and jars, #1 and #2 plastic (as a general rule, a plastic container is recyclable if you can crush it or squeeze it and it does not shatter or break), papers and ALL CARDBOARD in their designated recycle container. These cardboard materials include corrugated cardboard, pizza boxes, cereal boxes, juice cartons/boxes, cracker boxes and cartons from soda and beer, as well as all other “clean” cardboard and boxboard. To properly recycle cardboard, please remove all contaminants such as
trash, food waste, styrofoam, plastic or other packing materials. There is no need to flatten containers.
Plymouth Township residents are required to separate recycling material from their trash for separate collection. Recyclables are collected ONCE A WEEK, on your designated recycling day. All items must be placed in the blue recycling container and set out at curbside for collection. Large cardboard items may be placed next to recycle containers. Damaged containers can be exchanged at no cost. Lost containers will be replaced at the cost of five dollars, containers are available at the Township Building, 700 Belvoir Road.
