Get Updated with Greg: New State Earned Income Tax Credit, Harrisburg Happenings, and more
Hi Neighbor!
This month brought us back-to-back session weeks in Harrisburg. While I’m back at the Capitol, take a look at this edition of “Get Updated with Greg!” to read more about what my colleagues and I accomplished for you during last week’s session, and a few local events I attended this weekend.

GETTING RESULTS FOR WORKING FAMILIES IN PA
Last week I voted for the Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit, which is modeled after the Federal Earned Income Tax Credit. If passed by the PA Senate, the WPTC will cut costs for working families by giving them a greater income tax return. The state credit would be worth 30% of your Federal earned income tax credit – meaning it could put $200 to $2000 back in your pocket. The bill passed the House and now goes to the Senate. Watch the video above for more information!
OUR IMMIGRANT COMMUNITIES MAKE US STRONGER
I stand by our immigrant communities. Harrisburg was buzzing with advocacy groups this past week, and I had the opportunity to join a rally for immigrant rights on the steps of the Capitol Building alongside advocates and my colleagues. It was a stunning display of the positive impact immigrant communities have on our neighborhoods and communities.
RAISE THE WAGE
Pennsylvania’s minimum wage matches the Federal minimum of $7.25 an hour. It’s not enough. With a rising cost of living, I strongly believe it’s time for our state to raise the wage, support our workforce, and keep hard working Pennsylvanians in Pennsylvania. I stood in solidarity with peers and citizens rallying for an increased wage because you deserve to be able to live where you work!
WORKING FOR BETTER TREATMENT OF BLACK MATERNAL HEALTH
Black birthing mothers have worse outcomes and less support than others, and it’s led to a staggering rate of Black maternal morbidity. I spent an afternoon with the sisters of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority and my colleagues spearheading the PA Momnibus legislation to discuss how this upcoming legislative package seeks to improve critical disparities in maternal health care.
EAGLES AT THE CAPITOL
Sometimes a trip to Harrisburg gets to be more than politics! We were honored to welcome members of the Eagles organization to the House chamber last week to celebrate their Super Bowl victory. And yes, they brought the Super Bowl LII and LIX Lombardi trophies!
DO SOMETHING TOWN HALL IN WASHINGTON, D.C.
I always love the chance to get you directly involved in advocating for our district, and I recently had a big one: a bus trip to D.C. with 40 of our neighbors to engage our members of Congress and advocate for Social Security, Medicare, and public education. What an experience to have together!
175 YEARS OF CONSHOHOCKEN AND THE
SECOND ANNUAL SIMON’S HEART CONSHY CLASSIC
Conshohocken Borough turned 175! To celebrate, the Borough hosted a birthday celebration aligned with the 2nd Annual Simon’s Heart Conshy Classic, hosted by QCW Cycling. The event featured a bike race throughout the Borough, live music, food trucks, and family activities. They finished it out with a grand finale live drone show. What a blast!
