Health and Wellness Clinic Tomorrow Morning! Plus, Celebrate the Eagles this Friday!
Hi neighbor!
Welcome to this week’s edition of “Get Updated with Greg”!
FLY EAGLES FLY! The Philadelphia Eagles are Super Bowl Champions once again! What an incredible season and a well-earned victory for our Birds!
Leading up to the Big Game, I had a blast attending Eagles Pep Rallies in Harrisburg and Montgomery County, celebrating with fans and feeling the energy of Eagles Nation!
While the color red is typically associated with Valentine’s Day, this year, the City of Brotherly Love will likely be covered in Eagles green for the Eagles celebration parade on Friday, Feb. 14! The parade is on Broad St. and the Ben Franklin Parkway. The team will be revealing more details soon! More info. here.
Regrettably, we have had a number of our vendors cancel on us for the Valentine’s Day Dance on Friday. We are left with no other choice to but to re-schedule. I will keep you all updated with the new date and time!

I’m pleased to share that several fire companies and emergency medical services in our district have received $123,843.73 in funding through the Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program. This annual grant supports volunteer and career fire companies, EMS, and rescue squads by providing financial assistance for essential projects such as facility improvements, equipment purchases, training, debt reduction, and recruitment efforts.

These grants provide much-needed support to the first responders who keep our communities safe. I’m grateful for their service and will continue advocating for funding opportunities that benefit our local fire and EMS organizations.
Governor Shapiro’s 2025-2026 Budget Address
Governor Shapiro delivered his 2025-2026 budget address on Tuesday, laying out a comprehensive plan to strengthen Pennsylvania’s future. With a focus on key pillars like education, affordable childcare, accessible mental health care, and public safety, his budget proposes critical investments that will benefit students, educators, working families, first responders, and all Pennsylvanians.
The plan includes significant increases in school funding, efforts to expand teacher pipelines, and measures to make childcare more affordable and accessible. It also highlights expanded mental health services and a focus on public safety, including an increase in PA State Troopers and grants for fire companies. In addition, the budget calls for long-overdue support for pre-Act 9 retirees.
While there is still much work to be done, these steps mark important progress in the journey toward a stronger, more equitable future for all. I’m looking forward to contributing to this effort and helping bring these real solutions to life for communities across Pennsylvania.
Congratulations to the new Montgomery County Controller Bob Hart!
I was very excited to attend new Montgomery County Controller Bob Hart’s swearing-in ceremony. I am looking forward to him taking on this important role serving our community!

Request a Review of Denied Health Insurance Claims
If you believe your health insurer wrongly denied a claim, the Pennsylvania Insurance Department may be able to help.
Pennsylvania consumers with commercial health insurance can now ask for a review of denied health insurance claims. The Independent External Review allows you to share why your request should be covered. If the independent review organization decides the care should be covered, the consumer’s health insurer must cover the care.
