News & Events from State Representative Greg Scott

PA Representative Greg Scott banner image

Hi neighbor!

Welcome to this week’s edition of “Get Updated with Greg”!

It was truly humbling to celebrate beginning my second term with constituents from across our district. Serving our community continues to be the greatest privilege of my life, and I remain committed to fighting for the progress and opportunities our district deserves.

Thank you, District 54, for your trust and support. Together, we’ll continue building a brighter future!

As we kick off the new legislative session, I’m honored to share my committee assignments for the 2025-26 term. Serving on the Finance, Insurance, Veteran Affairs & Emergency Preparedness, Gaming Oversight, and Labor & Industry committees, I’m committed to advancing policies that matter most to our community. These assignments position me to address key issues, from strengthening our economy to supporting our veterans and workforce.

As the Pennsylvania House prepares for its first full session week next week, I want to take a moment to reaffirm my unwavering commitment to building a better, safer future for all Pennsylvanians. Since my first term, I have been dedicated to championing issues that truly matter—like commonsense firearm safety measures, equal protections for marginalized communities, including LGBTQ individuals, safeguarding our environment, advocating for workers’ rights and fair wages, and ensuring access to health care without the crushing weight of medical debt. Your needs are at the heart of my work, and I will continue to fight tirelessly for them in the weeks and months ahead.

Throughout this legislative session, I will be focusing on advancing goals that benefit our community while opposing efforts that could hinder progress or undo important advancements. Representing you in our commonwealth’s Capitol is a responsibility I approach with great dedication and care.

As always, you can also follow me on socials, FacebookInstagram, and X (previously Twitter), to keep up to date on when I post legislative, community, PennDOT, and weather updates.  Please feel free to pass this update along to friends throughout our community, so they can keep in touch, too.

Warmest regards,

Greg Scott

Request a Review of Denied Health Insurance Claims

If you believe your health insurer wrongly denied a claim, the Pennsylvania Insurance Department may be able to help.

Pennsylvania consumers with commercial health insurance can now ask for a review of denied health insurance claims. The Independent External Review allows you to share why your request should be covered. If the independent review organization decides the care should be covered, the consumer’s health insurer must cover the care.

SEPTA Senior Key Cards and Card Renewals

We can renew your SEPTA Senior Key Card at my office if it has expired or will expire in the upcoming month. Please stop by my district office or any of the satellite locations to renew your card before it expires. You also can call to schedule an appointment.

In addition, my office can process applications and take photos for new SEPTA Senior Key ID Cards, which grant free rides on all SEPTA Regional Rail and transit routes inside Pennsylvania to seniors 65 or over. Simply come into one of my offices with a form of identification bearing your date of birth, such as a birth certificate, U.S. passport, or driver’s license issued in Pennsylvania. After we quickly snap a photo and enter your information into SEPTA’s online system, SEPTA will ship your new card to you directly.
