Grants available to help businesses with energy efficiency upgrades

State grants are now available to help eligible small businesses make energy efficiency upgrades.

The Small Business Advantage Grant Program is open to registered Pennsylvania for-profit businesses with 100 or fewer full-time employees. The program provides 50% matching reimbursement grants of up to $5,000 to help businesses purchase energy efficient or pollution prevention equipment or adopt waste-reduction processes.

Child Tax Credit information

On July 15, eligible working families began receiving Child Tax Credit payments by direct deposit or check.

Eligible families who filed taxes for the 2020 or 2019 tax year and/or signed up for stimulus payments should automatically receive monthly payments of $250 or $300 per child.

Those not required to file taxes can still sign up for the Child Tax Credit using the non-filer tool.

Eviction moratorium extended for substantial/high COVID-19 areas

The CDC has extended the national moratorium on evictions until Oct. 3 for areas experiencing high or substantial levels of COVID-19 cases.

Montgomery County is currently considered to have substantial transmission. Up-to-date information on transmission rates is available here.

PennDOT wants to hear from you

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is seeking motorists’ input on traffic safety and driving behaviors through its annual online Highway Safety Survey.

The survey is available here through Aug. 23. The survey is anonymous and should only take about five minutes to complete.
