Branch and Chip Program

The Township runs two Branch and Chip Collection Programs during the year. The Fall Program will run from the first week of September running 5 weeks. The Spring Program will run from the beginning of March for 6 weeks. More details can be found in the Township Newsletter or contact the Public Works Department at (610) 277-4103 Ext 4136.

Residents who want tree branches picked up during these periods must call the Public Works Department at (610) 277-4103 prior to NOON Wednesday of the week they wish to have the branches picked up and leave their address. Branches will be collected on Thursday and Friday, weather permitting. Collection may be delayed until Monday or Tuesday of the following week.

IF YOU DO NOT CALL YOUR BRANCHES WILL NOT BE PICKED UP.

The Public Works Department chips the branches and stockpiles the chips. The wood chips are turned into mulch, which is free for the taking at the Public Works driveway, 700 Belvoir Road.

Residents should comply with the following:

  • Leave the branches as long as possible – a minimum of five feet (5′) in length.
  • Nothing over five inches (5″) in diameter can be chipped.
  • Branches should be placed at the curb in an orderly pile.
  • Please let us know if your branches have thorns so we can exercise caution when handling

This does not include hedge and shrub clippings. If you want hedge and shrub clippings collected, please place at curb in biodegradable brown bag, in designated yard waste container or tied with biodegradable string on Wednesday for Yard Waste collection.
