Civic Green Special Athletes  Ages: 4+ years This program is for youth with special needs who enjoy sports and socializing.  We will be offering different sports weekly. The emphasis of this program is on having fun while learning sportsmanship, physical activity, social interaction and fun.  Some fundamentals of the sports will be taught.  This is a volunteer driven program.  Parents may be asked to help and participate.

Twinkle Toes Character Step and Hip Hop  (Ages: 9-11 years)
Children can develop their love of dance through this program.  Character Step – Similar to tap dancing only done with soft jazz shoes without the taps.  Hip Hop, a form of jazz dance performed to a fun upbeat sound.  Parents are invited to a performance during the last class. Parents are encouraged to leave.  Price: $62 RES/$77 NR

Young Rembrandts Elementary Drawing Class (Ages 7-14 years) 
Make this a memorable winter by signing up your elementary child in a Young Rembrandts drawing class. Your child will learn about basic design and composition as they draw the Fish Below Ice and Great Wall of China. If your child is fond of sports, they will enjoy drawing our illustration featuring a Hockey Player. Besides strengthening your child’s drawing and coloring skills, he or she will also learn about art history as we present lessons featuring master artists Leonardo Da Vinci and Franz Marc.  Price: $100 RES/$125 NR

Young Rembrandts Cartoon Drawing Class  (Ages 7-14 years) 
Encourage your child’s enthusiasm for art and help develop his or her drawing skills with a Young Rembrandts drawing class. Our cartoon drawing lessons will stoke your child’s artistic fire. Your child will learn about exaggeration and drawing facial expressions in our lessons entitled “Cold Faces” and “Dad Expressions.”  Our students will learn how to create fully realized cartoon characters by personifying cuddly polar bears in our “Cold Weather Friends” lesson. Learning to tell a story through a series of drawings will be the focus in our illustrations featuring a humorous shaving sequence. Encourage your child’s creativity. Price: $100 RES/$125 NR

Have your girl scout come to the community center and earn her swimming badge (Create Your Own Badge). This program is for the junior girls division of the Girl Scouts. Computer Coding (Age: 10-15 years)
Students will learn how to program a computer from the ground up using the popular JavaScript programming language.  By the end of class, each student will have created his/her own web-based game and a functioning chatbot.  Topics include basic programming concepts (e.g. syntax, data types and structures, program control and flow, and error handling) as well as an introduction to HTML and CSS.  No previous experience required.  Students must bring a laptop with some pre-installed, free software from Microsoft.  Students should pack lunch and snack. Price: $65 RES/$82 NR

Adult & Pediatric CPR/AED Ages: 14+ years (if under 14 please call 610-313-8681)
The Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED classroom course incorporates the latest science and teaches students to how to respond to cardiac and choking emergencies in victims of any age.  Students who successfully complete this course will receive official American Red Cross certification for Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED valid for two years.

Lifeguard Training (Ages: 15+ years)
This course will provide lifeguard candidates with the skills and knowledge to prevent, recognize, and respond to emergencies and to provide care for injuries and sudden illnesses. Interested candidates must be 15 years of age on or before the final scheduled class. Attendance is mandatory at all classes. CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, and Community First Aid and Safety are also included in this course. Candidate Pre-requisites: Candidates will be required to pass a swim test on the first day of class to continue course training. Test includes: 300 yard swim, 2 minute treading water without use of arms, and timed 20 yard swim and brick retrieval at 13 feet depth without goggles.

Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Blended Course Ages: 14+ years (if under 14 please call 610-313-8681)
 This course teaches students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children, and infants. The course meets OSHA/workplace requirements. This course includes an online portion and an instructor-led classroom skill session. The online portion must be completed prior to attending the in-class portion and must be taken on a PC or tablet with a high speed Internet connection. Allow approximately 2 hours 30 minutes to complete the online portion. Upon successful completion of this course you will receive a digital certificate for Adult First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years. NOTE: A valid email address is required at the time of registration to complete the online portion of the course. You must bring a printed or digital copy of the certificate from the completed online training, or you will not be allowed to complete the classroom portion of the course. Registration deadline: 2/28.

Babysitting Course (Ages 11-15 years)
The American Red Cross Babysitter Training Course is designed to provide youth who are planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants.  This training will help participants to develop leadership skills; learn how to develop a babysitting business, keep themselves and others safe and help children behave; and learn about basic child care and basic first aid.   Please pack a lunch.
